Troop Information
Boy Scout Troop 125 was started in 1950. Today, Troop 125 has roughly 40 registered scouts. We are charted by and meet at St. Mary's Church in Stillwater Minnesota. This boy-led troop empowers boys to be leaders by allowing them to develop a troop program and then take responsibility for figuring out how to achieve their goals. They accomplish this by electing a senior patrol leader and then organizing into groups of patrols under the guidance of the scoutmaster. The troop schedules one or two events each month consisting of campouts, backpacking trips, community service projects, and activities such as swimming, dodge ball, snow tubing, plus much more.
Troop Meeting
The troop meets every Thursday (except the first Thursday of the month or the occasional holiday) from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, during the school year, upstairs in the Education Center of St. Mary's Church located at 423 5th Street South, Stillwater, MN 55082.
Committee Meeting (adult leaders & volunteers)
Is normally on the 1st Tuesday, following the first Thursday, of each Month beginning at 7:00 PM. ALL parents welcome! Please check the calendar for up-to-date information. Scouting is for parents, too! Active, committed adult leaders and parents are the heart and soul of a successful Boy Scout Troop. A little time and a little effort can make a huge difference in a young man's life. Volunteer to help at one of our many events... you'll be glad you did!
Summer Camp
For many years, Troop 125 has gone to Tomahawk Scout Reservation during the 2nd or 3rd week of July based on how the calendar falls. The troop uses this time to teach younger scouts the skills needed for the rank of Tenderfoot, to provide older scouts with the opportunity to complete merit badges in a variety of categories, and to challenge our oldest scouts with high adventure outings such as rock climbing and whitewater kayaking.
High Adventure
High adventure is for scouts who are 14 years of age or older, have completed the 8th grade and have obtained the rank of First Class. Recent and upcoming high adventure trips include backpacking in the mountains of New Mexico at Philmont Scout Ranch and backbacking in the Big Horn Mountains in Wyoming.
